Before moving into private practice I provided counselling in hospital and community settings across Australia, working with people experiencing many different emotional and physical health challenges. I am passionate about helping people address stressful feelings and emotions regarding past or current experiences, to gain clarity, make clearer choices and feel better. To feel like yourself again.

Focusing on your individual needs, I use powerful stress management techniques such as Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT/Tapping), mindfulness and breath work, together with traditional counselling methods to help you get clarity on your current symptoms and let go of what no longer works for you.
Down to earth and judgement free, my approach is focused on how past or present stress and trauma is impacting your current situation and help you make sense of this in easy to understand ways.
The pace of appointments is guided by you. You are the expert in your situation and I am guided by this. I believe we all have the answers we are seeking if given the opportunity to unpack and clarify what is getting in the way.
The most common feedback people provide at the end of appointments is they feel calmer and lighter, the issue they came in with doesn't feel like so much of an issue anymore, and they have a greater sense of clarity about what to do next.
EFT - Emotional Freedom Techniques
EFT, Emotional Freedom Techniques, or “Tapping” as it is commonly known, is very effective in reducing the impact of stress and trauma because it works with both the mind and the body. Latest research tells us trauma often can't be fully processed through talk therapy alone because trauma is actually storedin the body. If you have used talk therapy in the past and your issue/s remain unchanged, then EFT may be the solution you are looking for.

Expressive art techniques
If you are someone who prefers to express themselves creatively or it's something you would like to try, then be sure to ask about using expressive art techniques in your appointments. These techniques provide a way to safely explore stressful or traumatic experiences without needing to talk about the event or concern. No art experience is required as the process is about self-expression through simple mark making rather than creating a piece of art. This technique is used in conjunction with EFT/Tapping.
