Take some time to check in - do these feel or sound familiar?

You feel like you’ve “dealt with that”, but the problem continues.
You feel like you should be ‘further along’.
A feeling of repeating the same patterns or behaviour.
Feeling frustrated with yourself and your life.
Feeling like you should have been able to “work it all out” by now.
A sense of not feeling "like yourself" anymore.

These are all common feelings. And they can be frustrating when there is no change.  The thing is our brains are very good at keeping us safe and alive. But not so helpful when it comes to change - particularly if you have experienced trauma. Sometimes you do need support to start to see things more clearly and set yourself on a different path.

A bit more about stress and trauma....

Stressful and traumatic events can affect many areas of your life.  Symptoms such as anxiety, depression, fatigue, panic attacks, digestive issues, irritability, mood swings, difficulty concentrating, sleep issues, physical pain and illness are common as well as negative beliefs and patterns that leave you feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, and exhausted.

What is trauma?

We are all pretty familiar with stress and the feelings it creates. But what exactly is trauma?

Trauma is an internal response to a distressing event that effects how you see and experience the world - regardless of whether it happened recently or many years ago.

Historically we have been led to believe trauma only relates to more shocking events such as acts of war, natural disasters and assault. But there are many other situations that can create a trauma reaction such as accidents, medical procedures, serious illness or injury, bullying, the loss of a loved one, domestic violence, divorce and childhood abuse and neglect.  And trauma can occur through direct experience or by seeing a distressing event happen to someone else.

Latest research tells us trauma can’t be fully processed through talk therapy alone because trauma actually gets stored in the body.

EFT, or “Tapping” as it is commonly known, is effective in working with both mind and body. EFT is clinically proven to reduce symptoms of stress, anxiety and trauma. Helping you to move from overwhelm to feeling more calm, relaxed and more like yourself again.

"I went through a divorce and was having a difficult time adjusting. Karen was extremely professional and easy to talk to. She moves therapy at a pace that suits you and through her help she was able to quickly help me to remove the "brain fog" I was experiencing.
