Hi!

This time of year can often feel a bit hectic. To help you feel more calm and grounded, I’m sharing
a
simple one minute tool--no prior tapping experience required!

What is EFT (Tapping)?

Before I get started, here is a quick recap. EFT, Emotional Freedom Techniques. or ‘tapping’ as it is commonly known, is a gentle practice where you tap on specific acupressure points to assist the body and mind to release tension, reduce stress, and feel calmer.

One of the most common questions I receive in relation to tapping is:

“What words should I use?”

The magic of EFT is— in its basic form, you don’t need to find the perfect words. You can simply tap and breathe, and that’s enough to start calming your nervous system!

Quick Reference: Tapping Points

Quick 1-minute tapping practice

Whenever anxiety creeps in, or your to-do list starts to feel overwhelming, try this easy 1-minute practice:

  1. Locate your collarbone points – these are on either side of the chest. Refer to the chart above.

  2. Using both hands, tap gently with all five fingers on both points while focusing on your breathing.

  3. Continue for about one minute.

Now check in and notice how you feel.

This simple practice is enough to start calming your nervous system and body!

Ready to take it one step further?

To take it one step further, try the following:

  • Tap on the different points (refer to chart above) – notice which ones feel more calming for you.

  • Breathe mindfully – one method you can try is to inhale through your nose and exhale slowly through your mouth paying attention to the breath. Do this a few times.

  • Add words as you tap – say to yourself, either silently or out loud:

    • “It is safe to relax and be present right here, right now.”

    • “I’m doing the best I can.”

Simply notice how your body and mind respond.

Even a minute of mindful tapping can help your body reset and remind your nervous system that you are safe.

💛

At this time of year it’s easy to forget your own needs. A guided EFT session can help you come back to yourself — calm, grounded, and ready to move forward with ease. You can find out more about session details here.

Until next time,
